Hallux rigidus

Hallux rigidus
These two photographs of the same patient show hallux rigidus with outward signs of first metatarsal degenerative joint disease and bone spurring (arrows). Only 10 degrees of passive extension can be achieved at the first metatarsal joint. A Haglund deformity can be seen at the patient's heel in the first photograph (arrowhead).
