Anatomy of the aortic valvular complex

Anatomy of the aortic valvular complex
The three-dimensional aortic root contains three elliptical rings and one crown-like ring that together form an oval-shaped three-pronged coronet with three anchor points at the nadir of each aortic cusp. The "aortic annulus" is measured at the virtual ring formed by the basal attachments of the aortic cusps.
VA: ventriculoarterial; A-M: aortic-mitral.
