Alcohol-associated steatohepatitis

Alcohol-associated steatohepatitis
Trichrome stain of a liver biopsy shows perivenular and perisinusoidal fibrosis. Fibrous tissue initially gets deposited around the central venule. In this biopsy, delicate connective tissue is present in the sinusoids. Eventually, the lumen of the central venule will be completely replaced by fibrous tissue (ie, central hyaline sclerosis).
