A PET-CT for staging cancer of the esophagus (arrowhead) reveals an active nodule in the neck (arrow). The axial image of the PET-CT (B) shows a hot nodule in the right lobe of the thyroid (arrow). An ultrasound guided biopsy of the nodule (C) shows the tip of the needle in the nodule (arrow). Papillary thyroid cancer was confirmed.
