Peri-implantitis

Radiograph on the left side shows a dental implant placed on the maxillary posterior left side and then restored subsequently. This same implant is seen on the right radiograph eight years later, now with peri-implantitis, with severe angular alveolar bone loss evidenced by the extended radiolucency seen both at the mesial and distal aspects.
