Calcaneus: Angle of Gissane

Calcaneus: Angle of Gissane
This lateral radiograph of the same fracture used to describe Bohlers angle shows the angle of Gissane. The lines used to approximate the angle of Gissane run along the superior aspect of the posterior facet and the superior aspect of the anterior process. Here the angle measures about 100 degrees, barely within the normal range (100 to 130 degrees).
