Nasal encephalocele

Nasal encephalocele
Nasal cephaloceles are herniations of brain, meninges, and/or cerebrospinal fluid through a defect in the skull. Those containing brain tissue are termed encephaloceles. They may communicate with the subarachnoid space and, occasionally, the ventricular system. The arrow points to an encephalocele underneath the nasal dorsum.
