Megakaryocyte demarcation membrane

Transmission electron micrograph of a mature megakaryocyte shows prominent proliferation of a surface-connected demarcation membrane system (thin arrow) which has sequestered the cytoplasm into platelet-sized subunits (thick arrow). This membrane will later serve to provide the surface membrane for many platelets.
