Management of corneal abrasions*

Management of corneal abrasions*

* Refer to UpToDate topics on corneal abrasion.

¶ For adults with low-risk abrasions (eg, not associated with contact lens wearing, not caused by a foreign body, and not located over the central cornea), close observation without prescribing topical antibiotics is a reasonable option. For dosing of topical antibiotic therapy for corneal abrasions, refer to UpToDate content on management of corneal abrasions.
