* Children's and infant's acetaminophen oral liquids available in the United States and Canada contain 160 mg/5 mL (ie, 32 mg/mL). In an effort to reduce pediatric dosing errors, concentrated 100 mg/mL infant drops were phased out beginning in 2011 but may remain available to be given to children if purchased during phase out or if obtained in other countries.
¶ NOTE: Tenfold dosing errors and toxicity from intravenous acetaminophen have occurred in small children when the calculated dose in mg is INCORRECTLY administered as the volume in mL because the concentration of the solution is 10 mg/mL.Do you want to add Medilib to your home screen?
