One-legged hyperextension test

One-legged hyperextension test
The test is performed by having the patient hyperextend their lumbar spine while standing on a single leg. This test is used in the evaluation of a suspected spondylolytic defect at the pars interarticularis. The test is positive if the patient's pain is reproduced. A positive test may indicate an active spondylolysis and/or irritation of the facet structures.
