Axial view of the sesamoids

A fracture is not apparent on this view because the fracture lies in the same plane as the x-ray film and there is no displacement. This and other views could prove valuable in assessing fractures that are not well seen in anteroposterior (AP), oblique, and lateral views of the foot.
