Mesenteric swirl

Mesenteric swirl
The patient is a 39-year-old woman presenting with abdominal pain following gastric bypass surgery. The patient was diagnosed with an internal hernia through the mesenteric defect at the enteroenterostomy.
The enhanced transverse CT scan through mesentery shows swirled appearance of mesenteric vessels (arrows) in superior mesenteric artery region. Associated mild mesenteric edema appears as increased attenuation of mesenteric fat.
CT: computed tomography.
