Doppler flow transverse view of aortic rupture on TEE

This TEE transverse view demonstrates a traumatic subadventitial rupture of the aortic isthmus with color Doppler flow mapping. Blood flow velocities appear similar on both sides of the medial flap, and the presence of a mosaic of colors at the site of the disruption reflects local blood flow turbulence.
