This figure shows the portion of the cervical esophagus proximal to the perforation that was dissected for creation of a cervical esophagostomy. The esophagostomy site is located on the anterior chest wall, below the clavicle. A subcutaneous tunnel is made to pass the proximal end of the esophagus to the outside of the chest wall.
