Arterial supply of the femoral head and neck

Arterial supply of the femoral head and neck
The lateral ascending cervical arteries provide the blood supply to the majority of the femoral head. Foveal vessels may supply a varying area directly adjacent to the insertion of the ligamentum. There is little to no direct contribution to the head from the anterior vessels.
