Schematic representation of saber sheath trachea

This deformity is characterized by narrowing of the intrathoracic trachea in the coronal plane (c) combined with widening in the sagittal plane (s). A ratio of coronal to sagittal diameter ≤0.6 is suggestive of this diagnosis.
