For laparoscopic pancreatectomy, an 11 mm port is placed to the left of the umbilicus for the camera. An additional 5 mm working port is placed between the left anterior axillary line and midclavicular line just cephalad to the umbilicus. On the right, a 12 mm port is placed opposite the 10 mm port for the harmonic scalpel and endoscopic gastrointestinal anastomosis stapler. Additional 5 mm ports are placed in the right lower quadrant and in the subxiphoid area, which is used to retract the stomach and liver.
