Laboratory evaluation depends upon the physical findings. Laboratory studies (eg, bile acids, liver function tests, prothrombin time) are indicated when cholestasis is suspected because of the risks of maternal and fetal morbidity. |
Skin biopsy is indicated if the diagnosis is in question or to confirm pemphigoid gestationis or pustular psoriasis of pregnancy. |
