Bone marrow aspirate from a patient with AML (FAB classification M2). (Wright-Giemsa stain). The WBC count was 70,000/microL and was comprised almost entirely of myeloblasts with numerous azurophilic granules.
AML: acute myeloid leukemia; WBC: white blood cell.
