Genu varum and genu valgum

Genu varum (upper panel) is a varus alignment of the knee. In varus deformities, the apex of the angle formed by the bones on both sides of a joint points away from the body. Genu valgum (lower panel) is a valgus alignment of the knee. In valgus deformities, the apex of the angle formed by the bones on both sides of a joint points toward the body.
