Focal nodular hyperplasia of the liver seen on Gd-BOPTA scan
Axial T1-weighted magnetic resonance (MR) image of the liver showing focal nodular hyperplasia in the left lateral segment of the liver (arrow). This image was acquired three hours following intravenous administration of gadobenate dimeglumine (Gd-BOPTA). The bright signal intensity of the lesion is due to accumulation of the contrast agent to a greater extent within the lesion than in the adjacent liver parenchyma, and is not due to increased vascularity.
