Base of the first metacarpal fracture types
Type I (Bennet's fracture-dislocation) and type II (Rolando's fracture) are intraarticular. Type III fractures are extraarticular, either transverse (IIIA) or oblique (IIIB). Type IV fractures are seen only in children and involve the proximal epiphysis.
