Microscopic appearance of the myocardium in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, stained with hematoxylin and eosin, shows myocyte disarray with an irregular arrangement of abnormal shaped myocytes that contain bizarre nuclei and surrounding areas of increased connective tissue.
