CT scan of a patient with biopsy-proven retroperitoneal fibrosis. The right kidney is hydronephotic and the left kidney is small. In addition, there is circumferential encasement of the aorta and vena cava by tissue (arrowheads), with attenuation numbers similar to that of adjacent psoas muscle.
