Peripheral atelectasis of the right upper lobe

Peripheral atelectasis of the right upper lobe
An apicolateral opacity with convex medial borders is visible (arrows). It has the appearance of a loculated pleural effusion but the overall lung volume in the right hemithorax is reduced and the trachea is shifted towards the opacity. The superior segment of the hyperexpanded right lower lobe is interposed between the peripheral RUL atelectasis and the mediastinum.
RUL: right upper lobe.
