Ruptured spleen with arterial blush on contrast-enhanced computed tomography

This adolescent received a direct blow to his left upper quadrant while playing soccer. Note the extravasation of intravenous contrast from the spleen (arrow) and the large amount of free fluid in the abdomen (arrowheads). He recovered without operation after one transfusion.
