Lack of active lesions of other interstitial diseases (ie, sarcoidosis or Langerhans cell histiocytosis). |
Lack of marked interstitial chronic inflammation. |
Granulomas: inconspicuous or absent. |
Lack of substantial inorganic dust deposits, ie, asbestos bodies (except for carbon black pigment). |
Lack of marked eosinophilia. |
