Contractile patterns of FLIP panometry

Contractile patterns of FLIP panometry
Panel A represents images of normal peristalsis and the three subtypes of achalasia using high resolution manometry. The HRM catheter is pictured in the drawing positioned through the esophagus and into the stomach. Panel B are FLIP panometry correlates of the HRM images demonstrating normal peristalsis and the subtypes of achalasia. The FLIP catheter is also pictured in the drawing positioned similar to the HRM catheter.
EGJ: esophagogastric junction; EGJ-DI: esophagogastric junction-distensibility index; FLIP: functional lumen imaging probe; HRM: high resolution manometry; RACs: repetitive antegrade contractions; RRCs: repetitive retrograde contractions.
