49-year-old with pathologically proven grade 3 meningioma. Noncontrast head CT (A) shows
mass effect from a large right frontal mass with heterogeneous density and
surrounding vasogenic edema. The mass has heterogeneous signal intensity on
transverse axial T2-weighted MRI (B) and a thick peripheral rim of hypointense
signal relative to the hyperintense core. Postcontrast MRI (C) shows the
enhancing mass with central hypoenhancement, suggesting central necrosis.
Perfusion-weighted MRI (D) showed no elevation of relative cerebral blood
volume.
CT: computed tomography; MRI: magnetic resonance imaging.
