64-year-old
with pathologically proven grade 2 meningioma. Transverse axial T2-weighted MRI
(A) shows a right frontal mass with a broad dural base but an irregular shape
and large volume associated with T2-hyperintense vasogenic edema (arrows)
causing leftward midline shift. The tumor itself is better visualized on postcontrast
T1-weighted axial (B) and coronal (C) images, which demonstrate a broad dural
base and intense enhancement that are typical of meningioma. The irregular
shape and large volume of surrounding edema is not typical of most grade 1
meningiomas.
