Aliasing ultrasound artifact

Aliasing ultrasound artifact
The upper ultrasound image shows an artery disfigured by the color Doppler artifact known as aliasing. This artifact occurs when the rate of blood flow exceeds the sampling rate of the machine. Increasing the sampling speed restores a normal appearance, as seen in the lower image.
