Clinical criteria for cisplatin eligibility
Patients who are medically fit and eligible for cisplatin-based therapy meet all of the criteria below:
ECOG performance status <2 or a Karnofsky performance status >70%
Creatinine clearance ≥60 mL/min
No significant hearing loss (measured at audiometry of 25 dB at 2 contiguous frequencies)
Grade <2 peripheral neuropathy (ie, sensory alteration or paresthesia, including tingling, but not interfering with activities of daily living)
No clinical evidence of NYHA class III or greater heart failure
ECOG: Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group; NYHA: New York Heart Association.
