MDR-TB: multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (an isolate of M. tuberculosis with resistance to at least isoniazid and rifampin and possibly additional antituberculous agents); XDR-TB: extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (an isolate of M. tuberculosis with resistance to isoniazid, rifampin, a fluoroquinolone [levofloxacin or moxifloxacin], and at least one second-line injectable agent [amikacin, capreomycin, kanamycin] or resistance to isoniazid, rifampin, a fluoroquinolone, and either bedaquiline or linezolid).
