Breast shadow on single-photon emission computed tomography

Breast shadow on single-photon emission computed tomography
Screen-captured images of raw, rotating SPECT data show higher breast shadow on stress compared with rest images. The dashed line represents the lower rim of the breast shadow on stress and rest. A small amount of the heart can be seen under the lower rim of the breast on stress but not on the rest image. In the reconstructed stress images, the defect is in the typical anterior and anterolateral position for breast attenuation. However, the defect is not fixed as it is in most breast artifacts; instead, it is reversible because of the shifting breast position.
SPECT: single-photon emission computed tomography; Str: stress; Rst: rest; ANT: anterior; SEP: septal; LAT: lateral; INF: inferior.
