¶ It takes 3 to 7 days for a pericatheter leak, or several weeks for a noncatheter or nonprocedure-related abdominal wall leak to seal. Sometimes a thoracic leak may seal after resting the peritoneum from irritation of the pleura by leaked dialysate.
