Spinal stenosis is when the spinal canal (the space around the spinal cord) becomes too narrow. When is affects the lower back, it is called "lumbar" spinal stenosis. It can be caused by different things, including bone spurs. If the spinal cord or nerves are pinched, this can lead to symptoms like pain, tingling, numbness, and weakness.
