Tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) can be measured with transesophageal
echocardiography. In this image, a mid-esophageal four-chamber view is
focused on the lateral tricuspid annulus and right ventricular apex. TAPSE is measured using speckle tracking software to determine the distance
that the tricuspid annulus travels during systole, with normal value being 17
mm or greater.
