Continuous ESP block

This image shows a catheter in place for continuous ESP block. The tip of the catheter should be positioned at the level that corresponds to the most painful dermatome. Prior to injecting the local anesthetic bolus through the catheter, inject 1 to 3 mL of saline through the catheter and visualize the erector spinae muscle lifting off the transverse process.
