Passy Muir Valve in place

Passy Muir Valve in place
The Passy Muir Valve attaches to the end of the tracheostomy tube. It is a one way valve that allows air to be inhaled through the tube, but prevents exhalation through the tube. The patient exhales around the tracheostomy tube and through the vocal cords, permitting the patient to speak.
