Ultrasound during pregnancy

This picture shows a person getting an ultrasound during pregnancy. Ultrasounds use sound waves to create pictures of the inside of the body. The person doing the ultrasound holds a device called a "transducer" against your abdomen. The transducer sends pictures to a monitor. The ultrasound is used to check on the growing baby and your reproductive organs.
