Comparison of surgical and percutaneous arteriovenous fistulas

Comparison of surgical and percutaneous arteriovenous fistulas
The side-by-side images show some differences between sAVF and pAVF. The surgical scar is visible at the elbow for the sAVF (A), but no scar is seen with a pAVF (C). In the upper arm the fistula is visible without a tourniquet with the sAVF (B), but barely visible using a tourniquet for the pAVF (D).
pAVF: percutaneous AV fistula; sAVF: surgical arteriovenous fistula.
