Cystic and solid brain metastases from breast cancer
Cystic and solid brain metastases from breast cancer
62-year-old with brain metastases from HER2-positive breast cancer. Transverse axial FLAIR MRI (A) shows multiple masses of varying size, each with associated hyperintense vasogenic edema. Postcontrast MRIs in transverse axial (B) and coronal (C) planes demonstrate both rim- and solidly enhancing lesions at the gray-white matter junction of both the cerebrum and cerebellum.
HER2: human epidermal growth factor receptor 2; FLAIR: fluid-attenuated inversion recovery; MRI: magnetic resonance imaging.
