Flexion initiation test for distal biceps tendon

Flexion initiation test for distal biceps tendon
The flexion initiation test (FIT) is performed by a seated patient, arm fully extended and forearm supinated. The examiner supports the elbow at the olecranon with 1 hand and places the other hand on the flexor side of the wrist. The patient is asked to initiate flexion against 10 to 15 pounds of resistance. Inability to flex the elbow 10 to 15 degrees constitutes a positive test.
