Complications of improper sizing of oral airway
Improperly sized oropharyngeal airways. An oropharyngeal airway that is too large will displace the epiglottis inferiorly over the glottic opening. An airway that is too small will impinge on the tongue, displacing it posteriorly into the hypopharynx.
