Ultrasound and Doppler study patellar tendinopathy

These ultrasound images show the patella tendon of a 17-year-old basketball player who complained of anterior and inferior knee pain and was diagnosed with patellar tendinopathy. A (axial view) and B (longitudinal view) show the patellar tendon with heterogeneous echotexture (arrows), reflecting moderate structural changes, and thickening. The infrapatellar fat pad is echogenic and similarly inflamed.
