Marking the skin projection of the transverse process using ultrasound
Marking the skin projection of the transverse process using ultrasound
To mark the skin for the location of the TP:
Place the transducer in a sagittal orientation with the tip of the TP centered on the screen, and mark a horizontal line at the center of the transducer (X).
With the transducer in an axial orientation and the tip of the TP centered on the ultrasound screen, mark a vertical line the center of the transducer (Y).
The needle entry point should be at the intersection of the two lines.
