Among children, current asthma prevalence was higher among male children aged 0 to 4
years (6.8%) compared with female children in the same age group (2%). Asthma
prevalence was similar for male and female children aged 5 to 24 years. Among
adults 25 years and older, the percent of current asthma was higher among women
than men.
