Cardioversion for atrial fibrillation

Cardioversion for atrial fibrillation
The video demonstrates use of a cardioverter/monitor during a cardioversion procedure for atrial fibrillation. The steps include recording and identifying the cardiac rhythm (atrial fibrillation), turning on synchronization mode to electronically track QRS complexes, selection of the level of energy to be delivered (generally 120 to 200 joules for biphasic devices and 200 joules for monophasic devices), and delivery of a synchronized shock (cardioversion), followed by monitoring the rhythm to determine whether sinus rhythm is restored.
