Cutaneous distribution sciatic nerve block

Cutaneous distribution sciatic nerve block
The sciatic nerve provides sensory innervation to the skin of the leg and foot below the level of the knee, with the exception of a medial strip innervated by the saphenous nerve. The posterior femoral cutaneous nerve (PFCN) of the thigh provides sensory innervation for the skin of the posterior thigh. The PFCN runs in the subgluteal space along with the sciatic nerve and is often blocked with transgluteal block, less often with an infragluteal block. For further information, refer to UpToDate content on sciatic nerve block.
